Jasper Conran is a world-famous fashion designer, who has had success in his line of work since the late seventies. In 1979 when he was a mere nineteen years of age, he launched his first collection, which was aimed at women. Because of his initial success, Conran was added to the collection of the London Designers. By the mid eighties he had branched out into menswear too, and since then his career as a designer has come on in leaps and bounds. Highlights of his career have included designs for wedding dresses for the rich and famous, including Paula Yates, Sarah Chatto, and Jasmine Guinness. His success as a wedding dress designer meant that he has been able to launch his own collection of bridal wear.
However, Jasper Conran is not limited just to the catwalk and fashion in clothing. In the late nineties, Conran branched out into crystal ware and even china for the pottery company Wedgewood. He has also put his name to a number of fragrances for men and women, as well as collaborating with Chesney’s to create a range of fireplaces. His most recent lines have included glasses for the optician’s Specsavers.
However, one of his most successful roads has been his collaboration with the department store Debenhams. In the mid nineties, Jasper Conran and Debenhams collaborated to create the new line of women’s wear, which was entitled simply ‘J’. The range was both stylish and affordable, meaning that is was hugely successful with the masses who already shopped there. The J line has now grown, and Jasper Conran launched a range in menswear, children’s clothing, men’s and women’s accessories, lingerie, as well as his hugely successful home ware collection.
J by Jasper Conran home ware includes a number of items to keep your home at the cutting edge of style. His range is heavily influenced by modern design, so anything you buy will be the crème de la crème. Items within the J collection include both furniture and soft furnishings, such as lighting fixtures, bathroom items like towels and accessories, bar accessories, kitchenware such as pots, pans, crockery and cutlery, glassware, and luggage.
Particularly popular has been his line in bedding, bed linen, and bedroom accessories. If you’re looking to revamp your bedroom in a stylish way, J by Jasper Conran is definitely the way forward. The line is sleek and stylish, often with muted grey tones in the colours, with a bright highlight of pink or green for contrast. The lines are crisp and clean. The result is a bedroom which is both fashionable and welcoming.
Within this collection, there are different sets, with names such as ‘Mayfair’, ‘Marlowe’, and ‘Knightsbridge’. The names alone tell you that the product is of a high quality, and appeals to stylish customers. The different lines come in separates, with prices ranging from around twenty-eight pounds for pillowcases to eighty-eight pounds for sheets. There are also additional accessories, such as bed throws (£85) and faux fur cushions (£25). More expensive items include quilted bedspreads in satin and other beautiful materials, which are around the two hundred pound mark.
